New Web Publishing Venture

My wife and I have tossed around the idea of creating a side business creating websites, and we've finally decided to take the plunge.  We've had AlexanderPublishing.net for a number of years with that goal in mind, and given we've already created a site for our HOA and now are working on two projects for Flip's work I think we're off to a good start.

For now below is our short list of business things to get going for the new business:

• Setup a business phone number through Skype
• Get DBA, Tax ID, plus learn as much about the taxes on web services in Texas so we're as legit as possible
• Get PO Box for Business (not sure if this is really needed but might keep it on the back burner)
• Setup Bank Account for Business

 And here are the technical things we need to start looking at:

• Setup Reseller Account with HostGator (I love those guys)
• Start drafting our website and some sample sites
• Get pricing scheme together
• Get list of 'technologies' we can support, which will probably include custom sites from scratch or canned sites using WordPress and Joomla along with mobile apps given I can get some proof of concept apps going for iOS and Android

So lots of stuff, but it'll be fun and hopefully lucrative in the end.
